With the slogan “Come and change the country, let’s change the world”, the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation organized the Divisional Taekwondo Open Poomsae Championship 2025 in Rajshahi on Friday, September 12, 2025. The day-long competition was held at the District Gymnasium from 9 am on Friday. Hasanuzzaman Khan Bablu, Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Federation and state-certified footballer, declared the event open. About 300 competitors from different districts and upazilas of Rajshahi participated in the festive atmosphere from the morning.
Participants ranged from toddlers to teenagers, and young players participated in the competition. The Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation informed that such a competition will make the game of Taekwondo more popular across the country and will encourage the new generation to play Taekwondo. The organizers said that the participation of competitors from different districts of the Rajshahi division has created great enthusiasm and excitement in the sports arena. In the evening, the prizes were presented to the winners of the competition by the District Commissioner’s NDC and senior officials of the organization.

The championship was hosted by Rajshahi Divisional Taekwondo Association General Secretary Mumit Hasan in collaboration with Rajshahi District Sports Association and Rajshahi Divisional Sports Association. Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang General Secretary Mozaffar Hossain, Rajshahi District Sports Officer Jahangir Hossain, Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang President Sekender Ali, Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation Advisor Eng: AKM Rafiqul Islam, Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation Ad Hoc Committee Member Arif Rabbani, Divisional Sports Association Member Secretary and Youth Development Department, Rajshahi Deputy Director ATM Golam Mahbub and Rajshahi Divisional Taekwondo Association Assistant Trainers Ehatasamul Alom, Masud Rana, Asik Mahmud and many others were also present. Other members of this committee and students were also present.
After the competition, Rajshahi Divisional Taekwondo Association General Secretary Mumit Hasan said, “The participation of such a large number of young and young players in today’s Divisional Taekwondo Open Poomsae Championship is truly inspiring for us. We want taekwondo to spread further in Rajshahi and the whole of Bangladesh. The new generation should come forward in sports and fly the flag of Bangladesh proudly in the international arena. I am grateful to the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation, district and divisional sports organizations, and all the well-wishers, with whose sincere cooperation this event has been successful. I believe that such competitions will create our future champions.”
