
On the 7th, the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) entered into a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting and spreading taekwondo at KAIST’s main campus located in Daejeon.
The signing ceremony featured attendance from Kim Jung-heon, chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, and Lee Kwang-hyung, president of KAIST, among others, who agreed to work together on efforts to promote and disseminate the national martial art of taekwondo, collaborate on the scientific development and consulting regarding taekwondo equipment, and support taekwondo training and experiences for both domestic and international students at KAIST.
With this agreement, faculty and students at KAIST can anticipate opportunities for taekwondo training and experiences via visits to the Taekwondo Center, as well as future advisory and collaborative efforts in the development of taekwondo equipment and the establishment of scientific experience apparatus at the Taekwondo Center.

Lee Kwang-hyung, president of KAIST, expressed, “I hope that KAIST students of various nationalities from across the globe will engage in and train in taekwondo, thereby enhancing the global standing of taekwondo. ” He continued, “We will assist in the growth and promotion of the national martial art taekwondo by advancing the scientific development of taekwondo utilizing KAIST’s advanced technological and research capabilities. “
Kim Jung-heon, chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, remarked, “Recently, KAIST has been showcasing significant research accomplishments related to everyday life, such as developing fast charging technology for electric vehicles and restoring damaged eyesight. ” He stressed, “We will endeavor to advance in the scientific development and dissemination of the national martial art taekwondo through collaboration with KAIST, which spearheads global value creation. “

Ehatasamul Alom is an esteemed Taekwondo 3rd Dan Black Belt with over 12 years of experience in this dynamic martial art. Born in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, Ehatasamul’s journey with Taekwondo began at the tender age of seven.
